Global Events takes home award at 8th Annual ISES New York Metro Chapter Big Apple Awards Gala for the best Stage Design in the TOY OF THE YEAR AWARDS Event. The Toy Industry Association held their 2008 Toy of the Year Awards at Pier Sixty in February, honoring the best toys from the previous year in 12 categories, and kicking off the International Toy Fair at the Javits Center. Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen of LEGO was inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame. The award-winning stage incorporated a “wafer wall” backdrop that had a modular design, and gave the set a good sense of dimension. LED lights, which changed colors every time a new speaker arrived on stage, kept the overall look fresh, clean and new (and also allowed us to work with the year's color scheme). Flanked by two screens and some creative lighting the results made a great impact, at a low cost.
